Thursday, 28 Sept:

Fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport, where a driver from Legendary Lodge will be waiting to take you on the 1.5 hr transfer to Legendary Lodge. Check in, explore the grounds, and enjoy delicious food.

28 Sept: Stay: Legendary Lodge

Friday, 29 Sept:

Start your Tanzanian safari with a 2 night stay at Forest Chem Chem.  You’ll take a road transfer from Arusha to the lodge (2.5 hrs), and then settle in for 2 days at the exclusive use lodge.

See first-hand how the work of the Chem Chem Association has helped to re-establish a migration corridor for the magnificent Tusker Elephants in Tanzania. 

29 Sept – 1 Oct: Stay: Forest Chem Chem

Sunday, 1 Oct:

Move from Forest Chem Chem to Chem Chem Lodge (1 hr) and experience the art of the slow safari.

Monday, 2 Oct:

Today Coastal Aviation will fly you from the Chem Chem Airstrip to Lamai Airstrip (10:00 – 12:30) to officially start your Serengeti experience at Nyasi Migrational Camp. The search for the large herds will begin upon landing, as your safari guides will meet you and transfer you to camp (45 mins). 

Spend the next 2 days exploring the northern section of the Serengeti and the abundance of wildlife it holds. 

2 – 4 Oct: Stay: Nyasi Migrational Camp

Wednesday, 4 Oct:

Take another Coastal Aviation flight from Lamai to the Grumeti Airstrip in Nyasirori in the western corridor (09:10 – 09:45), followed by a 90 min game drive to Mila Tented.  

An idyllic tented camp, Mila allows you to immerse yourself in the surrounding landscape without sacrificing comfort.  Spend your 2 days exploring this sector of the Serengeti, and keep your eyes open for the abundance of cats that call this area home.

4 – 6 Oct: Stay: Mila Tented

Friday, 6 Oct:

Hop on another Coastal Aviation flight from Mila Tented to Mwiba Lodge in the Mwiba Reserve (10:15 – 11:00). A short 15 min drive brings you into camp where you will complete the northern Tanzania circuit with a cultural experience like no other with the Hadzabe and Da’toga Tribes.

6 – 8 Oct: Stay: Mwiba Lodge

Sunday, 8 Oct:

Your final Coastal Aviation flight takes you back to Arusha Airport (11:00 – 11:45).  You’ll then be whisked back to Legendary Lodge for lunch and a comfy place to relax before you head to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect to your overnight flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg. Flights to be booked by the agent:

Monday, 9 Oct:

When you arrive in Johannesburg, you will have access to a room at City Lodge should you choose to ride out the layover in a hotel, before catching the first flight of the day down to Cape Town. Flight to be booked by agent:

FA200 JNB – CPT (05:55 – 08:10)

Magnas Tours & Transfers will be waiting to collect and transfer you on the 45 minute scenic road transfer to Boschendal Farm. You will be able to check into your rooms and enjoy some breakfast, followed by a day of personal downtime to catch up on emails or explore the Farm.

9 – 12 Oct: Stay: Boschendal Farm

IMPACT Workshop – 3 nights / 2 full days

Thursday, 12 Oct: 

There are no workshop plans for this day, so you can enjoy breakfast at your leisure and carry on with your onward travel arrangements.  Check-out is at 10am.

Packing List

To wear

Please pack only neutral colored clothes: khaki, brown, green, and grey.  Blue and black can attract tsetse flies, and bright colors, especially white, can stand out to animals.

  • Light-weight T-shirts, shorts, and long pants in neutral colors 
  • A warm jumper or fleece for the cool mornings and evenings
  • Comfortable, closed walking shoes
  • Hat, sunglasses, & swimming costume

Paperwork & Currency

  • Passport with visa
  • USD is accepted in Tanzania; ZAR for South Africa
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate required for connecting flight through Kenya
  • Comprehensive travel and medical insurance are essential


  • Baggage allowance is a maximum of 15kg per person inclusive of carry-on luggage.  Soft sided bags are recommended but not required.
