Meet at Lusaka Airport before flying with Proflight to Mfuwe Airport (16:35 – 17:45). Once at Mfuwe Airport, you will be welcomed by The Bushcamp Company team and transferred via road (45 mins) to KuKaya where you will begin your exploration of the South Luangwa National Park.
27 Sept: Stay: Kukaya
Thursday, 28 Sept:
Head out into the private and exclusive locations of the Bushcamps in the South Luangwa Park. You’ll depart Kukaya by road (2 hrs, 45 mins) to your first camp, Bilimungwe Bushcamp. Between the walking safaris and game drives, pull up a chair, grab a drink, and watch what wildlife appears amongst the three permanent waterholes in front of camp.
28 – 30 Sept: Stay: Bilimungwe Bushcamp
Saturday, 30 Sept:
Today you get to experience the real magic of the Bushcamps: heading out on a walking safari (approx 3 hrs) as you move from one camp to the next!
When you arrive at Kapamba Bushcamp, get ready to literally sink into your new camp, with your feet in the Kapamba River.
30 Sept – 2 Oct: Stay: Kapamba Bushcamp
Monday, 2 Oct:
You’ll have a more relaxed transfer day, with a 35 min road transfer from Kapamaba to Chindeni Bushcamp.
Enjoy your last night in the Bushcamps in this sublime tented camp with the stunning N’Chindeni Hills as your backdrop.
2 – 3 Oct: Stay: Chindeni Bushcamp
Tuesday, 3 Oct:
Jump back in the game vehicle for the 2.5 hr transfer back to Mfuwe Airport in time to catch your scheduled flight with Proflight to Jeki Airstrip (10:40 – 12:10).
Once at Jeki Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi National Park, the Chiawa Safaris team will be ready to welcome you and expertly guide you via game drive (15 mins) through the park and then along the river by boat (40 mins) to the spectacular Chiawa Camp.
Walk, drive, boat, fish, canoe, sleep, eat, immerse, and share while at Chiawa Camp.
3 – 5 Oct: Stay: Chiawa Camp
Thursday, 5 Oct:
To really know what Chiawa Safaris is about, you will get to experience the best of boths camps along the Lower Zambezi River. Today you will make your way down river to Old Mondoro by way of boat (1.5 hrs).
An authentic and truly Zambian camp, Old Mondoro is a real bucket-list camp with a sort of magnetic draw that even the wildlife can’t avoid.
5 – 7 Oct: Stay: Old Mondoro
Saturday, 7 Oct:
Enjoy a quick 45 minute road transfer from Old Mondoro to Jeki, where you will connect with your onwards Proflight flight to Lusaka Airport (08:50 – 09:50).
From Lusaka Airport fly to Cape Town Airport via Johannesburg Airport. Flights to be booked by the agent:
4Z163 LUN – JNB (14:15 – 16:30)
4Z929 JNB – CPT (18:10 – 20:20)
At Cape Town Airport, you will be collected by Coot Club and transferred via a scenic 2.5 hr road transfer, to Coot Club in Stanford for 2 days of biking, sailing, and beaching.
7 – 9 Oct: Stay: Coot Club
Monday, 9 Oct:
Today you will make your way to Boschendal, but via a fun filled day with Escape + Explore. You’ll explore the Overberg region complete with wine tasting and lunch at Beaumont Wines, before arriving at Boschendal. Once here, you’ll have some personal downtime on the farm.
9 – 12 Oct: Stay: Boschendal Farm
Thursday, 12 Oct:
There are no workshop plans for this day, so you can enjoy breakfast at your leisure and carry on with your onward travel arrangements. Check-out is at 10am.
